31. ByreSep 2, 2004 In addition to the last post please don't comment about the quest at all over public lines as I want all the surprises to stay that way and it is considered a quest and qinfo
32. TimSep 4, 2004 Crashed today. Last reboot was Jan 17 18:47:17 2004 and the crash was Sep 3 21:56:10 2004, meaning the game was running non-stop for 32w 6d 2h 8m 53s.
33. ZarickSep 10, 2004 Restrictions command added
34. TimOct 14, 2004 Finished the map for the current Tycoon overworld so far, the 'map' command should be helpful once you go out there. Other starting places will have similar maps eventually.
35. ShinjiAug 10, 2005 Boardcheck has been updated, you no longer need to use the pboard command. command boardcheck will give you the help file on It's usage. Any bugs, problems, please report it.
36. JinrokkuAug 10, 2005 Twohands fixed, but you may not notice. Lightshield no longer gives good_att_up. Evil Defense lowered a bit.
37. JinrokkuAug 10, 2005 Addition to above, fix you will notice: You can no longer twohand axe or hammer. Also, the jump room can no longer be warped into or out of.
38. JinrokkuAug 10, 2005 So, any people hoping to get Planewalker, speak to me.
39. JinrokkuAug 10, 2005 Note on the above message: only speak to me when you believe you have met the requirements for Planewalker.
40. JinrokkuAug 10, 2005 A lot of coliseum items have been changed a bit. If any of them do something wildly wrong, let me know.
41. JinrokkuAug 10, 2005 Guilds in Coneria and Pravoka should no longer teach magic. ++ to Enishi for helping me with that. Anyone who learned spells at any of those mage guilds, let me know.
42. JinrokkuAug 15, 2005 Accumulate once again boosts your physical attack power.
43. DaveSep 24, 2005 The town of Kohlingen is now more or less formally open. Can't take any credit
for it, as all the work was originally done by Suky/Vanion a looooong time ago.
If you find anything that I missed while updating it, let me know.
44. CedusOct 16, 2005 Xmagic is in! <help skill redarchmagelist> for more information.
45. DaveOct 17, 2005 Thamasa's Item Shop now sells relics!
46. DaveOct 19, 2005 Head's up! Mad Oscar's now have 'Bad Breath'
47. DaveOct 31, 2005 A few changes to the magic system that you should be aware of...
Firstly, elemental defence higher than 100 will now result in damage being
absorbed as HP from spells/attacks of the corresponding element.
Also, blue magic works now, so expect to find some learnable spells scattered
about the place. (Don't worry, we'll let you keep grandtrain if you already have
it.)
Note also that your m_absorb stat should now actually do something, and that
m_absorb_up status now works in the same manner as physical absorb_up status
(eg. 50% m_absorb_up reduces all spell damage by 50%, AFTER subtracting your
magic defense on the armor normally.)
If you have any enquiries/complaints/bug reports, mudmail me.
48. ChenziNov 1, 2005 Finally, Araban and Tule are in!
The overland outside of Araban is a semi-newbie area, and the
overland near Tule is a good alternative place to level for people
L15-30ish.
49. DaveNov 2, 2005 Due to popular demand, the Dragon Neck Coliseum now sports an aethyr sphere in
the lobby. Also, your opponent and the object they plan to wager against you
will be listed BEFORE the battle takes place and you will have the option of
whether or not to accept their challenge.
In other words, your wagers are no longer blind gambles. Have fun!
50. AndrewDec 8, 2005 The mysterious Archipelago has opened! How does one get to this luxorious vacation spot? If you're feeling adventurous, take the path south of Tycoon and walk for hours. Lazy? Go to Araban, they've opened their port to the public to allow you to safely sail just west of Crescent, for a price.
Enjoy!
-Andrew
51. TimJan 6, 2006 We moved to a new IP, eternalfantasy.org should work if your client is already set for that.
52. NarolApr 20, 2006 The new Summon system... is IN! The old Chocobo and Ifrit spells, as well as Moogle, are out, and Caller now gets Summon at first class level. There are even two new help files, 'help magic summon' and 'help magic summonsystem' to guide you along the way. Now, for the part nobody likes: The rules. Well, it's not so much "rules" in the sense that they're going to be a big secret. No, feel free to tell your friends you got Ifrit, and from where. That said, I won't make any hard rules about Espers for Caller and Summoner, but I will ask that you keep any secrets you find to yourself. It's more fun when people discover things for themselves. Any and all Espers for Master Summoner, though, are to be considered to have the dreaded label of "qinfo." They exist, but that's it. Have fun with the new Summon system, everyone, and report all bugs, typos, questions, comments, or just any general impressions to Narol.
53. CedusApr 24, 2006 Rejoice all ye knights, the break techs work now.
54. CedusApr 28, 2006 All you Bruce Lee wannabe black belts now get nunchucks like your Monk and Sensei brothers.
55. TimMay 5, 2006 I changed the look command (and indirectly changed movement since it uses look) so that there is an automatic CPK warning message on CPK rooms. My character's getting hoarse at calling espers stupid with the "aura of chaos" type of stuff done in the name of staying in-character. My new warning message will make you actually feel like something chaotic is going on, when it fails to fit in to your comfy Final-Fantasy-based world.
56. CedusMay 13, 2006 Mystic Knights see a new system in place for their mysticsword ability, Knight Break techs are more accurate and useful, Chemists may find that certain potions don't mix as well as before, and anything that should have blocked undead before now works as it should have done.
57. CedusMay 13, 2006 Squire gets recover.
58. CedusMay 20, 2006 Black belts and friends get to hit a maximum of twice per round, like the help files say they should. Observant Senseis may learn how to hit even more than that.
59. CedusMay 21, 2006 Equipment absorb is more useful when fighting high-level mobs (i.e. The difference in damage will be more noticable if Dragon of Asskicking is fighting a party of two people, one wearing a cloth robe and one wearing a +1 Bigass Platemail of Protection). This change is pretty much on a probationary level, I'm putting it in on a temporary basis and seeing what people think, since defense being worthless is a common complaint.
60. CedusMay 21, 2006 If you're in a party, being in the back row will reduce damage from physical attacks now.
61. CedusMay 22, 2006 ATTENTION KELBANS: Your race starts with 29 total stats instead of 30 like all the other races. This has been rectified with an extra starting point in wisdom. Existing kelbans can use the fixkelban command to get their extra wisdom.
62. CedusMay 24, 2006 I know a lot of players outright hated the changes to Samurai. Instead of the crazy SwdTech command, you now have the eight sword techniques from FF6. Current Samurai should primary samurai and getskills at your local neighbourhood sphere. Retort will come at a later date when we've figured out a good way to adapt it to the MUD system.
63. NarolMay 25, 2006 A new Esper has been added for those who thought they were too one-dimensional. Seek him out in the world of Aradian and he shall become a powerful ally.
64. NarolJun 10, 2006 Magic City Mysidia is now available for players to explore! Report all bugs, questions, comments, and general feedback to Narol. The area is for around level 50.
65. NarolJun 18, 2006 A new Esper has been implemented. If you remember Rydia, and search the world of Daoma, you may find this new Esper and bring it to your beck and call.
66. NarolJun 22, 2006 Eh, another new Esper. Again, nothing to get excited about this time, but remember Rydia still. It's in Daoma.
67. ChenziJul 4, 2006 Tule now has a quest that explains some of the issues in the area. Hopefully it'll appear in the 'quests' screen later.
68. NarolJul 12, 2006 The final Esper for Caller, Shiva, is now in game. Seek her out and add her power to your own, and you can finally master the class of Caller. As usual, direct all questions, comments, concerns, bug reports, and general constructive feedback to Narol.
69. AndrewJul 28, 2006 All martial artist skills should now reequip your weapon despite if you miss, or your target goes missing. If you find any exceptions, send a mudmail to Andrew.
70. DaveJul 29, 2006 Death has undergone a fairly fundamental change. Expect to see a few new features in the near future. In the meantime, mudmail any bugs/typoes/complaints to Dave.
71. NarolJul 29, 2006 Mysidia's guard system is now fully functional. That is to say, if you're a naughty boy or girl and kill people in town, Mysidia will send people after you. For now, Schlacht Magier is running a one-man show, but expect a wide variety of men and women under his charge to show up in Mysidia's defense over the next while. Deaths induced by execution in this manner reduce your enmity in town... and can indeed remove it entirely.
72. CedusAug 1, 2006 Cats eyes now works differently, in that you can automatically see if you have the ability but not if you don't. In mechanical terms, you can no longer "do secondary treasure hunter, catseyes, secondary whatever random god class" and still see in the dark without a light.
73. DaveAug 6, 2006 For those who haven't noticed yet, death has undergone another basic change. Instead of receiving an experience debt, death will give you a stat handicap for a short duration. This penalty will lift itself with time, but further deaths while still handicapped will result in a more severe penalty and a slightly extended duration. As usual, mudmail any bugs or complaints to Dave.
74. NarolAug 6, 2006 The mysterious Chocobo Forest near Mount Ordeals has been discovered to indeed still contain chocobos. While this might not sound like exciting news as is, there are probably some interesting things to be found there...
75. ValkerAug 9, 2006 Dark Sword and Night Sword should suck a bit less now. Report any bugs or wacky damage.
76. ValkerAug 11, 2006 If you've used the Squire ability Twohands to wield a weapon and use a martial arts skill, your weapon will now rewield two-handed instead of one-handed.
77. DaveAug 11, 2006 White Wizard now has the 'life' spell to restore allies who have fallen in combat. Expect to see phoenix down appearing in shops soon as well.
78. NarolAug 12, 2006 Phoenix Downs are now stocked in item shops throughout the world of Daoma.
79. AndrewAug 12, 2006 Ditto to post 78 for the world of Mallora.
80. NarolAug 23, 2006 Summoner and Master Summoner now learn the Blood Pact and Word of Command skills, respectively. Caller now learns Astral Flow as a seperate ability instead of it being an innate ability in the class. Anyone of high class level should use the getskills command to learn these abilities. Furthermore, all three of these abilities may only be performed by someone of primary class Caller, Summoner, or Master Summoner. Summon itself may be used by any class. Further improvements to the summoning system are forthcoming. Direct all questions, comments, and general feedback to Narol.
81. ValkerAug 27, 2006 Runic now works as originally intended; you may only absorb runic charges if your primary class is Runic Knight. SP absorption has also been fixed and works regardless of your primary class.
82. ValkerAug 28, 2006 More Runic changes: You will only absorb charges/SP if you used Runic yourself, not if a party member cast it on you, but you will still receive protection from magic.
83. NarolSep 10, 2006 The huge impasse between Mist and Kaipo has been cleared, and as such you can no longer simply ride a chocobo between the two towns. That means you'll have to cross the desert on foot to get there. Report any bugs, comments, questions, or general impressions to Narol.
84. NarolSep 28, 2006 As promised back in July with newstuff 71, Mysidia now has a full militia complement. Those of you used to fighting Schlacht Magier will have to figure out how to spawn him again. A fundamental change to Mysidia's justice system should make it more humane, but none should expect any mercy given to murderers. A few words of warning to all potential Mysidia killers: Great enmity is earned in the slaying of the guard, and prominent killers are met with great force. Report any bugs, comments, questions, or general impressions to Narol.
85. NarolOct 6, 2006 Baron has caught up with the rest of the MUD in sphere technology, and now sports a spiffy new blue aethyr sphere in its town hall's courthouse, two west of Baron's nexus stone.
86. NarolOct 26, 2006 The world of Daoma now sports tents, sleeping bags, and cabins for your sleeping pleasure. As per the help files, they only work at yellow or red aethyr spheres. Report and bugs, comments, questions, or general impressions to Narol.
87. NarolNov 5, 2006 Mount Ordeals has been opened by the legendary Tod Magier of Mysidia. What's inside can now be seen, but Tod Magier returned to Mysidia with a strong warning: What's inside does not wish to be disturbed. In fact, it wishes quite heavily to be undisturbed, and will fight back with extreme force to remove invaders...
NOTE: Mount Ordeals is intended for a group of level 70-80, or a strong level 99+, to get through solo. Proceed with caution.
88. CedusNov 20, 2006 X-Fight is in for hunter clevel 45. Getskills as hunter and enjoy.
89. NarolFeb 22, 2007 Talia Vareld has gone through yet another recode. Yes, again. Hey, shut up, it's only her tenth or so. But, seriously, she's harder now but her drops have been slightly improved to compensate. Bugs, comments, questions, impressions, etc to Narol.
90. DaveMar 19, 2007 New race added. See 'help guado' for details.
91. NarolMar 27, 2007 Elemental attack up/down statuses (e.g. "fire_att_up") now work, adding a fixed modifier to your elemental damage in general. This includes spells, melee attacks, and skills. Certain skills may receive a larger or smaller bonus than the baseline increase. Send all bugs, comments, questions, and impressions to Narol.
92. NarolApr 10, 2007 Trainer now gets its long-awaited Capture skill, and Beast Man gets its long-awaited Control skill. Report all bugs, comments, questions, and impressions to Narol.
93. NarolApr 25, 2007 For the first time since 2003, there are new classes to be found in game. The classes of Time Mage, Time Wizard, and Time Archmage have been added to the world, each with spells having unique effects not found in any other class in the game. These are designed as support classes, with greater emphasis on party support through buffing and enfeebling than soloing ability. Time Magic spells may not necessarily seem powerful at first, but can be used to great effect by skilled and well-coordinated players. For now, Time Mage is available only at the Baron guild hall, and Time Wizard with Ezmerelda Chadian in Mobliz. Time Archmage is, like all other third-tier classes, considered qinfo. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
94. NarolApr 30, 2007 Magic has gone a fundamental overhaul (again). The spell names have reverted to before Raven's change of the system (White Mages may now use the blink emote safely again), and the lists are a blend of the old and the new. Each mage now has their own definite strengths and weaknesses, not to mention playing style. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
95. NarolMay 14, 2007 Poison and regen ticks should now occur at an increased rate, enhancing the overall effects of both status effects. Furthermore, mobs will not experience poison damage unless they are in combat. As usual, report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
96. NarolMay 21, 2007 All of the rewards in Daryl's Tomb have gone through some overhaul. The Reis Wind ability and Holy spell have been removed, and have been replaced with an alternate ability and spell, respectively. All other rewards have been adjusted but not replaced in any way. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
97. NarolMay 27, 2007 Changing classes at a sphere will now clear positive status effects. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
98. CedusJun 1, 2007 Damage formulas for Jump and related techs have been tweaked, such that damage starts higher and curves upwards more slowly (also increases in damage occur with every clevel increase, rather than at staggered intervals).
99. CedusJun 1, 2007 Twohands got bumped from Squire 60 to Fighter 25, with the result that Fighter, Lancer, and Brawler can now twohands their weapons.
100. CedusJun 6, 2007 Magic defense (that isn't from m_absorb_up) works now, and can be acquired from equipment, plus an innate bonus from your willpower. This applies to mobs too.
101. NarolJun 8, 2007 The difficulty of the Dragoon quest has been adjusted. It should now be easier to complete and present a more balanced challenge overall. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
102. CedusJun 13, 2007 Rogue: the redundant Steal got removed, and Mug and Ambush got bumped down to cl25 and 50 respectively. Enjoy not having to clevel past the TH/Ninja reqs now.
103. NarolJun 15, 2007 The Ninja quest (named "A Shady Deal") now has documentation and official quest support added to it. Details are accessible under your quests list if you meet the requirements for the class itself. Players who have already completed this quest should speak to an Esper and receive credit for completion retroactively. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
104. NarolJun 18, 2007 Paladin and Dark Knight skill lists have been adjusted. Of note are the returning abilities Pierce and Lightshield, along with the new Paladin ability Rampart. All relevant information for each of these abilities is available in their help files. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
105. CedusJun 18, 2007 Knightswords now auto-twohands. This is good news for people too lazy to rewield their knightswords twohanded on login. This is bad news for people who used a knightsword with a shield ever.
106. NarolJun 26, 2007 The quests command now accepts an additional two arguments. Typing "quests -complete" will show you the list of quests which you have completed, and typing "quests -incomplete" will show you the list of quests available to you which you have not completed. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
107. NarolJun 30, 2007 Ebot's Rock will now give its quest completion tag upon completing it. Anyone who's completed it previously should speak to an Esper for the quest tag.
108. NarolJul 1, 2007 Attention all Beast Men: The Rage ability (as well as Leap) is now in the game. It's functionally more or less the same as in FF6, with a few additions that should prove quite interesting. If you don't already have Beast Man, a miniquest has been introduced which will allow you to gain the class (being a miniquest, it doesn't show up on the quests list, but use your imagination). Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
109. CedusJul 3, 2007 Berserker got redone. Enjoy, comments to Cedus, etc.
110. NarolJul 21, 2007 Official rules regarding spoilers have been added. Read 'help spoilers' for details.
111. NarolJul 24, 2007 There's now an official help file listing rewards for levelling: help levelrewards
112. NarolAug 3, 2007 The difficulty of the mobs in the Leafer Valley area has been adjusted. In general, this has taken the form of increasing their overall power and toughness. However, any "special" mobs are now significantly stronger than before. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
113. NarolAug 4, 2007 The ancient golden scroll will now remove your death penalty instead of ineffectually trying to remove your experience debt. Despite that the death penalty change was around a year ago. Isn't bureaucracy grand? Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
114. CedusAug 6, 2007 Defense formulas got tweaked a little. The same things go into the calculations as did before, just slightly differently. So, if you're noticing you're dealing/taking slightly different damage than you were before, that's why. (This was posted Jul 27, but it got duplicated somehow, and when I removed the duplicate, it cleared both. So, reposted.)
115. NarolAug 6, 2007 Minor skill adjustments to the "zen" knights. Night Sword and Dark Sword have new messages. Sacred Slash now costs 75 SP, Peace now costs 35 SP, and Light Shield's SP cost was increased to 50 SP. The help file for Paladin has also been updated, as have the help files for all affected skills. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
116. NarolAug 7, 2007 SP poison and regen effects have been increased in potency. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
117. NarolAug 8, 2007 Evade and magic evade settings on equipment should now work as expected. This works both ways: Equipment you find that raises these stats will provide excellent defense against their respective offensive types, but mobs should start to evade attacks and spells more often as well. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
118. NarolAug 11, 2007 The mobs in Daryl's Tomb have been adjusted. As the power level had been set too low for their experience and job point rewards, the mobs have consequently been made stronger. All "boss" mobs shall remain the same for now. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
119. NarolAug 12, 2007 Minor announcement: Changing primary or secondary class will now remove the Sneak, Hunt, and Hide skills' effects in addition to its existing feature of removing positive status effects. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
120. NarolAug 14, 2007 The damage done by an Esper's Astral Flow is now affected by the target's total magic defense. This magic defense is calculated from equipment and/or base magic defense settings, their Willpower statistic, and their m_absorb_up status. Conversely, m_absorb_down will now increase Astral Flow damage. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
121. NarolAug 14, 2007 An issue whereupon elemental attack up statuses would reduce instead of increase damage dealt if the target resists the element has been addressed. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
122. NarolAug 25, 2007 Attention Lancers and Dragoons: Your Jump and Lance skills no longer ignore defense. I apologize for any inconvenience. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
123. NarolAug 27, 2007 The quest for the "zen" knights, Paladin and Dark Knight, is now available, entitled In Defiant Challenge. This quest appears in the quests log when the requirements are met for either zen knight. Be advised that there are multiple paths along this quest, and similarly multiple endings--not all endings are equal. Decisions should therefore be made "in character" and not without thought. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
124. NarolSep 1, 2007 The maximum hit point values of the mobs Red Lord, Dark Wizard, and Field Cleric in the Tzen area have been adjusted. In addition, Red Lords will now wear platemail. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
125. CedusSep 5, 2007 Xfight tweaked to be less crazy. Specifically, it's slightly less damage now, and takes longer to go off if you're berserk.
126. NarolSep 6, 2007 The maximum attainable Strength and Vitality of the Moogle race has been adjusted from 190 to 200. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
127. NarolSep 9, 2007 The formulas for magic spells have been rewritten to place more emphasis on their caster's attribute scores. These formulas should remain, at maximum, equal to their predecessors in output. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
128. NarolSep 10, 2007 Ranged weapons now require ammunition in order to be used. Bows require arrows, and guns require bullets. In general, ammunition simply provides modification to attack power. However, ammunition with other effects are bound to pop up. At the time of this writing, arrows may be found in Baron, and bullets in Nikeah. More types of each will be made available in the near future. In addition, bows are now considered two-handed weapons in the same way knightswords are. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
129. NarolSep 16, 2007 The pose command has been added to give players more freeform emoting during roleplay. Its usage is identical to the emote command, with the difference being that the pose command does not indent its line wrapping. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
130. NarolSep 22, 2007 The Phase spell has been adjusted and reimplemented into the game. Planewalkers should speak to an Esper about relearning this spell.
131. NarolSep 24, 2007 Players' max SP has been increased by roughly 2%. This was originally posted a while ago, and the change was in reality effected by Dave, but someone decided that this sort of thing should go without explanation or announcement and removed it, so I'm reposting it so everyone knows what happened.
132. NarolSep 24, 2007 Planewalkers will now learn a white magic spell in addition to learning a black magic spell and a time magic spell.
133. NarolSep 25, 2007 A battle status has been implemented which mimics the Black Belt tree's existing Double Attack trait. In addition to this, the rates at which Black Belt and Monk execute Double Attack have been adjusted. Equipment which adds to your Double Attack rate will take effect regardless of class. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
134. NarolSep 27, 2007 Each class shall now receive one or two "traits" that reward you for being in that class by giving a minor bonus to that class' performance. For example, being a Black Mage will now grant you Magic Attack Bonus. You can view which traits you have by use of the traits command, which works the same as the skills command. Furthermore, a list of traits as well as a more detailed overview of the system are viewable through 'help classtraits'. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
135. NarolSep 30, 2007 Samurai can now use swords, spears, and bows/arrows.
136. NarolOct 4, 2007 A new status effect has been added to the game. The amnesia status will prevent anyone afflicted with it from using abilities, parallel to how mute prevents spell usage. Amnesia will show up as "a" in your status report, and prevent_amnesia will show up as "A". Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
137. CedusOct 12, 2007 Note: Some spellcasting mobs may be a little more vicious now due to a bug that made them skip rounds every so often being fixed. What you'll be seeing as a result is that if a mob used magic ever, it might suddenly cast a lot more spells than it used to. If you notice any mobs being way too strong for the area they're in now as a result, make it known.
138. NarolOct 14, 2007 The half-lunar race has been replaced by the lefeinian race. This change owes itself to the idea that being a half-lunar because of Cecil or Golbeze is the same as being a half-esper because of Terra, and does not fit the world as a whole. All half-lunar players will be automatically updated on log-in. We apologize for any inconvenience in roleplay that may arise due to this.
139. DaveOct 17, 2007 Addendum to #138. Players who are already half-lunars will no longer be forced to become Lefeinian. Those who were previously forced to change may ask one of the espers to change them back, if they wish.
This includes players that were changed automatically, and those that had their race changed manually because their stats were not growing. The problem with half-lunar stats has been fixed, and they should now be back to normal.
Half-lunar players who wish to become lefeinian may still do so, but the choice is entirely theirs.
140. ChenziOct 23, 2007 Kuza is now in! Level range is L40-50ish. Expect it to have several major changes in the future (balance wise and whatnot). Also within the changes is a much needed revamp to the Araban and Tule overlands. If the overlands become confusing, look for a merchant near the path to Tule who has maps for sale. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
149. NarolApr 20, 2008 Weapon stat influences have been redesigned. Certain weapon types will no longer rely solely upon strength for their damage calculations. In addition to this, guns now deal damage independent of their wielder's stats. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
150. DaveMay 9, 2008 The scaling system is now in-game for testing. A purple sphere has been placed in the alternexus for you to experiment with, and a new help file has been added to help explain how it all works (help scaling). Please report any bugs to Dave.
151. NarolMay 13, 2008 Races have been updated and rebalanced. Existing players will be largely unaffected. However, there are certain changes which should be noted:

Human can now start using statbonus at level 2.
Lefeinian's wisdom is now capped at 200.
Dwarf has been completely changed. See 'help dwarf' for details.
Guado has been renamed to dark elf. Existing guados are unaffected.
Half-dwarf and feline have been added.

This is where I usually put my signature but this was an effort on the parts of about every active esper, so report feedback as seen fit. However, report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism of feline to Narol.
152. LamoniMay 14, 2008 The Archipelago/Crescent/Mirage area has been scaled down drastically to be more "user-friendly". (Something that has been LONG overdue!) Please direct all criticisms and bugs towards Lamoni.
153. LugerMay 14, 2008 The 'statplan' command now exists so you can plot out your stat bonuses with relative ease. See 'command statplan' for help on how it's used and the in-command help for what to do in it. Questions, comments, to me.

158. NarolMay 28, 2008 The interior parts of Mount Ordeals have been updated. Issues regarding boss AI exploitation and improper aggression relative to the Army of Darkness have been addressed. Furthermore, several portions of the area have been made CPK. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
159. CedusJun 27, 2008 Ninja magic takes dex and not wis now. FYI.
160. MorathJul 24, 2008 The beautification of Kohlingen is underway! Recent additions include: the much-awaited bounty shop, the (re) emergence of some guild halls, and a decrease in Mayor Roland's chat output. Expect in the future for Kohlingen: an end to the formatting problems and errors. Perhaps a quest or two. And... some more stuff. -Morath
161. MorathAug 4, 2008 Beautification of the coliseum is underway. All rooms should now wrap properly. Please log any typos or grammatical errors. In addition, the Pepsi now states that it is a Pepsi after it is quaffed, rather than a Coke. The pizza has different toppings... Also, there is a seer mob in the bar who is in need of beer. Will you help him out?
162. MorathAug 7, 2008 Daryl's Tomb has had the word wrapping problem fixed. Room descriptions should be updated sometime.
163. CedusAug 13, 2008 Players can now set WEAROFFCOLOR. This changes the color that statuses wearing off will show up in. Enjoy.

165. LugerAug 22, 2008 Tournaments have been tweaked. You will now only be healed if a tournament actually happens (i.e. if more than 1 person enrolls). You will no longer be transported to Coneria -- you will be returned to the location you started from. If that isn't possible, then you will be sent to the Nexus. If you are killed in a tournament, then you will no longer go to the netherworld.
166. NarolAug 24, 2008 Undead in the Mount Ordeals and Inner Ordeals areas will now attack players whose HP thresholds drop below certain points. This manner of aggressive behaviour cannot be fooled by sneaking or other methods. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
167. NarolAug 27, 2008 The effect duration of the Runic ability has been altered. Furthermore, a player cannot receive Runic status again for one minute after application. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
168. CedusAug 30, 2008 In concordance with the above, RK's damage techs are a little different. The elemental ones are a bit stronger, all the techs take twohands now, infuse no longer applies and isn't on the class any more. Also, the number of charges you can carry around at once is capped now (30 slush, 20 for elements, 10 for statuses).
169. MorathSep 1, 2008 the Chocobo Raceway has been updated. The text wrapping has been corrected, and the stable manager that used to be in the description is now a separate mob. Send criticisms, complaints, care packages, and cookies, to Morath
170. NarolSep 2, 2008 Third-tier classes with in-game guilds or quests have been removed from the EFC room. Classes of second tier and lower are unaffected. We apologize for any inconvenience. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.

172. CedusOct 8, 2008 Holy and Death Knight are gone for the time being while we review our findings and consider what needs to be done. If you had them, any JP you had in them is still there for when you get to rejoin the class, so no worries on that count. Blame Cedus.
173. CedusJan 4, 2009 Skills command got a makeover. Enjoy.
174. NarolJan 20, 2009 Certain spells and abilities with HP or SP draining properties will now properly invert when the target is undead. The status of the target is the only thing that should affect whether or not a drain effect will invert. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
175. NarolApr 23, 2009 An issue whereupon class-restricted equipment could be wielded or equipped outside of their restricted classes has been addressed. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
176. MorathMay 11, 2009 The Adventurer School has reopened in the Nexus! It has been updated to reflect some of the changes that have taken place since the creation of the Eternal Fantasy. New and veteran players alike may gain something from a trip to the school. Please send all comments, criticisms, and cookies to Morath.

178. NarolMay 24, 2009 The penalty for death has been reverted to the experience penalty system. Upon death, instead of stat loss, a penalty of half your maximum level experience will be inflicted upon you. This experience debt must be worked off before any new progress is to be made towards increasing in level. Furthermore, under experience debt, you will only receive halved job points. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
179. NarolJul 7, 2009 A new quest entry, Iron Chef Relidia, has been assigned the pre-existing dungeon area within Lake Relidia (informally known as "Teivin's Caves"). Those who have completed this challenge should speak to a wizard to receive the completion flag without having to complete the objective again. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
180. EnkerSep 25, 2009 The Engineer class tree, for a long time starved for mid to upper level tools, now has three elemental tools available at the Weapon Shop in Albrook! All are roughly equivalent to tier 2 spells in damage, do not take most buffs due to their mechanical nature, are currently based on dexterity for damage, and require 64 dexterity to use. Thus, you cannot wield them until around the time you can get Mechanic, but you can use them as the Engineer class otherwise; however I might consider only making them usable by Mechanic and higher depending on how things go. Any questions, comments, criticism, bugs, etc., fire'em off at Enker!
181. NarolNov 18, 2009 The rate at which experience points are lowered due to difference in player level and mob level has been adjusted. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.

Engineer and Mechanic will only see which abilities are enhanced, while Inventor will receive a brief description of the enhancement. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
184. NarolApr 3, 2010 An issue where melee accuracy would be a random value instead of a static value has been addressed. Furthermore, the berserk status now imparts a bonus to the user's physical damage at a cost of some accuracy. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol or Enker.
185. NarolJun 24, 2010 The first of a two-part adjustment to the Black Mage and White Mage class trees is now complete. The Black Mage tree now has access to water and air magic, which differ in function from the blue magic of the same elements. Furthermore, several new spells have been added which further continue to emphasize Black Mage's role as the lead magical damage-dealer. Along these lines, the function of the Magic Attack Bonus trait shall be reviewed for update. Finally, while the only spell lost to these masters of black magic is the Dull spell, the order in which the elements are learned has been changed, and the purpose of this will become apparent in subsequent updates. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
186. NarolJul 12, 2010 The effect of elemental attack up statuses (such as those found on the Fire Rods buyable in Mysidia) has been adjusted. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
187. CedusJul 15, 2010 Limit breaks are now in, with different limits for each class. See 'command limit' for more information. You build up your limit gauge by receiving damage from others, as you would expect.
188. NarolJul 18, 2010 Continuing the adjustments to magic, the effects of statuses which modify magic damage have been adjusted. Magic power enhancements on the caster and magic absorbsion enhancements on the target will now "cancel out" rather than result in a net damage reduction when present in equal quantities. The damage modifier for magic critical hits is now added directly to the magic power modifier. The effects of elemental weakness and resistance on damage is unaffected. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
189. NarolJul 25, 2010 The equipment screen will now show a character's Speed statistic. In addition, the 'charge' command may be used to view your charge at any time, and prompts now support the $G flag, which will display a charge gauge similar to the one currently used for limit breaks. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
190. NarolAug 15, 2010 In preparation for the second half of the class adjustments started in June, a player's statistics including HP and SP may now be increased past their base maxima by equipment, duration, and class trait effects. Furthermore, magical accuracy is now a simpler calculation involving the spell's base accuracy rate, the caster's stats as compared to the target's stats and the average stats for a mage the caster's level, and the level difference between the caster and the target. More details on these and planned changes will come at the time of the second wave of class adjustments. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
191. CedusAug 19, 2010 Some new prompt tokens got added, check 'help prompt' for details. Also, the charge gauge in the prompt now shows different stuff depending what type you selected (read 'command charge' if that last sentence made no sense).
192. NarolAug 22, 2010 The Samurai and Ninja classes will now properly inherit the Double Attack and Martial Arts traits from Monk. As Samurai's trait is Blade Grasp and Ninja's trait is Ambidexterity, their Double Attack rates will remain the same as Monk's. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
193. NarolOct 17, 2010 The inventory command has been updated to sort and alphabetize your inventory. Previously, the command showed your inventory in a random order. This update sorts the inventory listing into these five categories: Worn equipment, weapons, armour, potions, and other items. At this time, potion ingredients as used by Chemist's Mix ability are classified in the "other" category. Other categories may be added as required. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
194. NarolJan 18, 2011 Summoned Espers will now persist after battle, and the Summon ability may now be used outside of battle. Upkeep costs outside of battle are the same as upkeep costs in battle. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
195. AlexMar 18, 2011 The Black Belt class now learns the ability Wave Fist. This attack hits a single target with magical damage based upon the user's strength and weapon power. Accordingly, the levels at which Spinfist and Chakra have been adjusted. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
196. AlexApr 22, 2011 Experience debt upon death has been reduced from 50% of your max exp value to next level to 25%. All other associated death penalties remain the same. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
197. AlexMay 14, 2011 The ban on casting magic in the Aradian world has been lifted. Instead, a penalty to spell cost and cast time is now imposed upon characters who have not yet acquired the Magical Orb. See 'help aradian' and 'help aradian magic' for details. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
198. CedusNov 29, 2011 Players can now 'set autoviewmap' to add a little mini-map to their look command. The contents of this map are equal to if you type 'viewmap' in a room. Enjoy, and blame Cedus if it breaks.
199. AlexJan 4, 2012 The stat system has undergone a complete overhaul. Due to the size of this notice and technical limitations of the newstuff system, this list will be separated into two newstuff entries.

- Stats are now derived as a multiple of the user's current level plus a multiple of the user's allocated stat bonuses, multiplied by racial and class modifiers.
- Each race receives a percent-based bonus to one stat and a penalty to another. Due to rounding, this may not be apparent at lower levels.
- Upon creation, players will now select a third stat to receive a smaller bonus.
- The list of player-selectable races has also been altered, and no support for preexisting races will be given.
200. AlexJan 4, 2012 - Rather than apply stat bonuses prospectively, players will gain one stat allocation point each level up to level 99, which may be spent to increase a specific base stat through use of the statbonus command.
- The charisma stat has been replaced by intelligence. Intelligence determines magic damage, while wisdom now determines magic accuracy and evasion. Willpower determines magic defense as well as the potency of healing magic. Furthermore, battle speed is no longer affected by the dexterity stat.

Due to the scale of this change, we expect there to be a number of bugs. These will be dealt with swiftly as reported, and we will work to remedy them as quickly as possible. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
201. AlexMay 30, 2012 The Thief class tree has undergone an overhaul. Its class progression is now Thief, Ninja, Assassin, and Night Blade. Rogue and Treasure Hunter have been removed. Any accumulated JP will be moved to the relevant class. Users who possessed the Treasure Hunter class but have not completed the quest "A Shady Deal" will retain their JP, but the Assassin class will remain unavailable to them until they complete that quest. Updated skill lists can be viewed as normal through the relevant help files, and if necessary obtained through the getskills command. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
202. AlexNov 17, 2012 A strange cultist has made his way into the Alternate Nexus of the Worlds, offering total statistical respecialization for a modest sum of gil. In short, this will reset a player's stat allocation points. Players who fall below the restrictions for a certain class as a result of this will be unable to change to that class until their base stats are high enough again, although earned JP will be retained. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
203. AlexJun 18, 2013 The who command will now prepend the word "master" to a player's class once that player achieves class level 99. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
PS, "master master summoner" is not a bug.
204. KrugenJan 8, 2014 Albrook: The dock at Albrook now offers service to an additional destination, for a limited time. Go forth and check it out. Also, various changes around the mud have been taking place. Equipment updating being one of these things, so any equipment bugs should be reported via the 'bug' command.
205. AlexJul 1, 2016 Scrolls have been added as drops off bosses that will reduce some or all of your experience debt, depending on the difficulty of the boss. Currently, golden scrolls that remove your entire debt will drop off Hidon, Caiaphus, Faldainen, Brand, and Malthor. Silver scrolls that remove half your experience debt will drop off other bosses. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
