148.NarolMar 24, 2008Cure and Ether potions have been altered significantly. Instead of providing weak static effects, their effects will now scale according to your maximum HP and SP values, respectively. Costs have been adjusted accordingly. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
147.NarolMar 24, 2008Summons will now count as full-fledged party members, receiving full benefit. They will not count towards the four-player party size limit. Greater detail can be found by reading the 'skills summon' help file. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
146.NarolFeb 21, 2008Combat formulas have been slightly changed. The accuracy floor has been reduced, and the effects of vitality, willpower, and dexterity on defensive calculations have been altered. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
145.NarolFeb 5, 2008The statbonus command can now be used to alert you upon reaching specified levels. See 'command statbonus' for details. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
144.CedusNov 17, 2007Deathtimer command will check how long you have until your death penalty wears off. Enjoy.
143.DaveNov 17, 2007The junk command has been updated to prevent accidental loss of equipped items. Additionally, you can now use 'junk -undo' to retrieve the last item removed, provided you do so within 24 hours of the original junking.
142.NarolNov 11, 2007Certain conditions for the quest "Beyond The Sun" will no longer result in complete failure. Anyone who has experienced such a failure should speak to me. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
141.CedusNov 10, 2007You can now use the conditions command to check your party members. White-mage-types rejoice, you can now keep up buffs on your party without having to bug them to let you know when stuff has dropped.
140.ChenziOct 23, 2007Kuza is now in! Level range is L40-50ish. Expect it to have several major changes in the future (balance wise and whatnot). Also within the changes is a much needed revamp to the Araban and Tule overlands. If the overlands become confusing, look for a merchant near the path to Tule who has maps for sale. Report any bugs/issues to Chenzi via mudmail.
139.DaveOct 17, 2007Addendum to #138. Players who are already half-lunars will no longer be forced to become Lefeinian. Those who were previously forced to change may ask one of the espers to change them back, if they wish.
This includes players that were changed automatically, and those that had their race changed manually because their stats were not growing. The problem with half-lunar stats has been fixed, and they should now be back to normal.
Half-lunar players who wish to become lefeinian may still do so, but the choice is entirely theirs.
138.NarolOct 14, 2007The half-lunar race has been replaced by the lefeinian race. This change owes itself to the idea that being a half-lunar because of Cecil or Golbeze is the same as being a half-esper because of Terra, and does not fit the world as a whole. All half-lunar players will be automatically updated on log-in. We apologize for any inconvenience in roleplay that may arise due to this.
137.CedusOct 12, 2007Note: Some spellcasting mobs may be a little more vicious now due to a bug that made them skip rounds every so often being fixed. What you'll be seeing as a result is that if a mob used magic ever, it might suddenly cast a lot more spells than it used to. If you notice any mobs being way too strong for the area they're in now as a result, make it known.
136.NarolOct 4, 2007A new status effect has been added to the game. The amnesia status will prevent anyone afflicted with it from using abilities, parallel to how mute prevents spell usage. Amnesia will show up as "a" in your status report, and prevent_amnesia will show up as "A". Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
135.NarolSep 30, 2007Samurai can now use swords, spears, and bows/arrows.
134.NarolSep 27, 2007Each class shall now receive one or two "traits" that reward you for being in that class by giving a minor bonus to that class' performance. For example, being a Black Mage will now grant you Magic Attack Bonus. You can view which traits you have by use of the traits command, which works the same as the skills command. Furthermore, a list of traits as well as a more detailed overview of the system are viewable through 'help classtraits'. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
133.NarolSep 25, 2007A battle status has been implemented which mimics the Black Belt tree's existing Double Attack trait. In addition to this, the rates at which Black Belt and Monk execute Double Attack have been adjusted. Equipment which adds to your Double Attack rate will take effect regardless of class. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
132.NarolSep 24, 2007Planewalkers will now learn a white magic spell in addition to learning a black magic spell and a time magic spell.
131.NarolSep 24, 2007Players' max SP has been increased by roughly 2%. This was originally posted a while ago, and the change was in reality effected by Dave, but someone decided that this sort of thing should go without explanation or announcement and removed it, so I'm reposting it so everyone knows what happened.
130.NarolSep 22, 2007The Phase spell has been adjusted and reimplemented into the game. Planewalkers should speak to an Esper about relearning this spell.
129.NarolSep 16, 2007The pose command has been added to give players more freeform emoting during roleplay. Its usage is identical to the emote command, with the difference being that the pose command does not indent its line wrapping. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
128.NarolSep 10, 2007Ranged weapons now require ammunition in order to be used. Bows require arrows, and guns require bullets. In general, ammunition simply provides modification to attack power. However, ammunition with other effects are bound to pop up. At the time of this writing, arrows may be found in Baron, and bullets in Nikeah. More types of each will be made available in the near future. In addition, bows are now considered two-handed weapons in the same way knightswords are. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
127.NarolSep 9, 2007The formulas for magic spells have been rewritten to place more emphasis on their caster's attribute scores. These formulas should remain, at maximum, equal to their predecessors in output. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
126.NarolSep 6, 2007The maximum attainable Strength and Vitality of the Moogle race has been adjusted from 190 to 200. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
125.CedusSep 5, 2007Xfight tweaked to be less crazy. Specifically, it's slightly less damage now, and takes longer to go off if you're berserk.
124.NarolSep 1, 2007The maximum hit point values of the mobs Red Lord, Dark Wizard, and Field Cleric in the Tzen area have been adjusted. In addition, Red Lords will now wear platemail. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Narol.
