223.EnkerJan 18, 2019Added abbreviation support to the statbonus command as well as extra messaging for quality of life.
222.EnkerJan 18, 2019Added a blue sphere to Coneria near the storage Starlight Industries storage facility. If there was another blue sphere in town already, it wasn't exactly put in a readily available location.
221.EnkerJan 18, 2019Added 'help blind' to provide help to blind players, especially for stuff that's a little bit more screenreader friendly.
220.EnkerJan 18, 2019Added a newbie rock garden to the Nexus last night.
219.TimNov 16, 2018I added a thing intended to keep idle connections active. If you didn't get any incoming messages for a while then you will be sent an empty message. I set it to just under two minutes. If this causes any problems or annoyances then please report it.
218.EnkerOct 21, 2018Unless otherwise defined, all mobs now have gil drops according to a standard formula.
217.EnkerOct 19, 2018Increased base item capacity from 15 to 30.
216.EnkerJul 19, 2018The back-end for attack and defense elements has been revamped, and with it "good" and "evil" elements have been changed to "light" and "dark"; further elements can be added a lot more easily. "good" and "evil" equipment and skills still need some time to be updated for the change. Report any bugs asides from such equipment having no effect in that vein to Enker.
215.EnkerJul 17, 2018Grey imps in Coneria have had their strength nerfed and their experience values recalculated. Hopefully they'll be less of a hassle for new players to tackle.
214.EnkerJul 9, 2018A couple of things updated here. Cure3 potions have had their prices hacked down from 2500 to 1200 gil. Also, after completing the Search for Thamasa quest, the Narshe airship will no longer block players from traveling to Thamasa or the Veldt for being under level 45 or so.
213.EnkerJul 7, 2018Potions now show healing and damage values when drunk, and some of the backend was overhauled. Report any bugs to Enker!
212.EnkerJul 7, 2018Cure2 potions have had their prices cut from 1000 gil to 500. Hopefully this helps with low level players using them and higher level players not abusing the price cut too much.
211.EnkerJul 6, 2018Armor and weapons gained off the Darkness enemies within the Mt. Taken area can now be sold for cash. Thanks to Morrigan for suggesting this.
210.EnkerJul 5, 2018Cure1 potions have had their price slashed from 250 gil to 50 gil. In addition to the minimum inventory increase, hopefully this shall be a much better help with low level survivability.
209.EnkerJul 4, 2018Minimum inventory capacity has been raised from 10 to 15! This should make gathering items to sell at early levels much easier. Thanks to Morrigan and Alex for this!
208.EnkerJul 3, 2018The inv alias has been added. In addition to i, this is a shortcut for the inventory command. Thanks to Shironu for pointing this one out and to Avar for trying to help out when I was fumbling around trying to get it to work!
207.EnkerJun 22, 2018The recall command has been implemented! Although it is of more limited use compared to similar commands on other MUDs, it should be quite helpful in getting out of aggro-filled areas or even just cutting down the time of an occasional long trip.
206.AlexJul 1, 2016Scrolls have been added as drops off bosses that will reduce some or all of your experience debt, depending on the difficulty of the boss. Currently, golden scrolls that remove your entire debt will drop off Hidon, Caiaphus, Faldainen, Brand, and Malthor. Silver scrolls that remove half your experience debt will drop off other bosses. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.

204.KrugenJan 8, 2014Albrook: The dock at Albrook now offers service to an additional destination, for a limited time. Go forth and check it out. Also, various changes around the mud have been taking place. Equipment updating being one of these things, so any equipment bugs should be reported via the 'bug' command.
203.AlexJun 18, 2013The who command will now prepend the word "master" to a player's class once that player achieves class level 99. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
PS, "master master summoner" is not a bug.
202.AlexNov 17, 2012A strange cultist has made his way into the Alternate Nexus of the Worlds, offering total statistical respecialization for a modest sum of gil. In short, this will reset a player's stat allocation points. Players who fall below the restrictions for a certain class as a result of this will be unable to change to that class until their base stats are high enough again, although earned JP will be retained. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
201.AlexMay 30, 2012The Thief class tree has undergone an overhaul. Its class progression is now Thief, Ninja, Assassin, and Night Blade. Rogue and Treasure Hunter have been removed. Any accumulated JP will be moved to the relevant class. Users who possessed the Treasure Hunter class but have not completed the quest "A Shady Deal" will retain their JP, but the Assassin class will remain unavailable to them until they complete that quest. Updated skill lists can be viewed as normal through the relevant help files, and if necessary obtained through the getskills command. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
200.AlexJan 4, 2012- Rather than apply stat bonuses prospectively, players will gain one stat allocation point each level up to level 99, which may be spent to increase a specific base stat through use of the statbonus command.
- The charisma stat has been replaced by intelligence. Intelligence determines magic damage, while wisdom now determines magic accuracy and evasion. Willpower determines magic defense as well as the potency of healing magic. Furthermore, battle speed is no longer affected by the dexterity stat.

Due to the scale of this change, we expect there to be a number of bugs. These will be dealt with swiftly as reported, and we will work to remedy them as quickly as possible. Report all bugs, comments, questions, concerns, and constructive criticism to Alex.
199.AlexJan 4, 2012The stat system has undergone a complete overhaul. Due to the size of this notice and technical limitations of the newstuff system, this list will be separated into two newstuff entries.

- Stats are now derived as a multiple of the user's current level plus a multiple of the user's allocated stat bonuses, multiplied by racial and class modifiers.
- Each race receives a percent-based bonus to one stat and a penalty to another. Due to rounding, this may not be apparent at lower levels.
- Upon creation, players will now select a third stat to receive a smaller bonus.
- The list of player-selectable races has also been altered, and no support for preexisting races will be given.
